What's Spinning

Another backlog of spins for you.

Glen Campbell- Rhinestone Cowboy. Nice version of Marie by Randy Newman on this, Glen doesn’t have any of Randy’s cynicism or irony. Works well. Title track an absolute classic.

Then this. One of my favourite albums. Have listened twice in a row actually. Some really amazing tracks, brilliant performances. Close To The Edge by Yes. Title track is one of my favourite sides of vinyl. Side B no slouch either

Then followed with more prog, Aqualung - Jethro Tull. Got this from a Sainsburys supermarket on nice green vinyl. Stephen Wilson mix.

This morning my first spin was Liege & Lief by Fairport Convention. This album has taken years to grow on me. Loved Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson solo but this album makes more sense to me now. Nice pink vinyl from HMV

And finally Crime Of The Century - Supertramp. Again I’ve had Crime Of The Century for years but it has really come alive to me this year. I’ve played it nearly every day this last fortnight. Fiona Apple, this is your competition for album of the year in this house.
