My collection 318-321

El Rego - Daptone compilation; Se Na Min, Marie-Francesca, Ne M'Attends Plus 7"

I've never quite got into El Rego as much as many other artists from Benin but this is a high-class compilation. Plus 3 singles fell out of the album too as a bonus.

Thundercat "Drunk" [112/357]

I like this album but don't play it much because of the format.

This is the last of my boxsets, so I'm going to continue with another shelf. Should I start with jazz or everything else? 🤔

Continuing with my collection.

Discovered Palehound when they opened for M.Ward in Solana Beach a couple of years back.

Sonny Rollins - Brass/Trio (Verve, V-8430, 1962 reissue)

Henry Grimes, one of the stand up bass greats left us this week too. Here he is with Sonny in both a bigger band and trio setting. These are the earliest recordings I have of him from ‘58 providing some shit hot walking basslines, before he went on to collaborate on some of free jazz’s greatest albums.

Albert Ayler - Witches & Devils AKA Spirits (Freedom/Polydor, 2383 089, UK, 1972 reissue)

Another from Henry, this time with another regular collaborator, Albert Ayler. This one’s been back and forth between its original Spirits title and Witches & Devils so many times. This was a nice value, nice sounding early ‘70s UK reissue. Wouldn’t surprise me if this pops up as an RSD reissue in the future.

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#197: Nxworries - Yes lawd!

#198: Other Lives - Tamer Animals
