Ibrahim Ferrer - Buenos Hermanos
Youssou N'Dour and Super Etoile de Dakar - Nelson Mandela
Probably the best Buena Vista spin-off album, and even though I think his music tails off when he took solo billing (rather than just the singer of Etoile de Dakar) this is still a solid album, if a bit too 80s at times.
So after two weeks of constant power trips , 4 electricians , disconnected all the outside sockets lights etc , by a long process of elimination..it was the bloody 5 month old fridge freezer ...so a celebration record ... hair metal power ballad time ..and it’s under warranty so back it goes
Freddie Redd Quartet With Jackie McLean - The Music From "The Connection" (Blue Note, 1960 First Mono Signed Pressing)
A massive tick off the wantlist with this one, and with the bonus of it being signed by Freddie Redd himself. Its a fantastic session which seems to be very underrated. Redd and Jackie McLean gel together really well.
