What's Spinning

Hahaha! I know you are. Believe me this album is so good that I CANT WAIT for the beautiful vinyl to arrive! It’ll be a bit of a mix of digital and analogue for me tonight because the Haim record hasn’t turned up yet either and I feel that I must listen to it tonight, the reviews are 🔥🔥🔥
I sampled a bit of the HAIM record earlier today, I don't know if I'll be buying it but I liked what I heard! I need to slow down the buying, especially with another Bandcamp Friday coming up July 3rd

So I have a box with 10 (yes 10 😱) Rolling Stones albums and the Haim album in the post and then I looked at my pre orders for the next two months and I know that the second PJ Harvey, Prince and the likely Tom Petty still need to be added to it. Somebody save me from myself...

Haim are an insta buy for me, even blind, so the fact I love the pre release singles and it had a great review is so exciting!

And I thought my four Bjork records were bad 😂😅

I'm waiting on Bandcamp Friday to buy a copy of Punisher but other than that, I'm trying to behave... but preorders have a habit of sneaking up on you 👀

Haha! They sure do! I did a bit of teaching work over zoom earlier in the month and the money was burning a hole in my pocket and I saw a bundle with 10 of the 11 stones albums I don’t own and yeah I’m weak...

One of the good things I found out over covid is that my favourite record store does preorders online with free in store pick up and the option to pay on collection rather than upfront. Is great to lock in all the records I want but it really does lead to ordering too much and facing a few Fridays of reckoning...

Gigi Gryce & the Clifford Brown Sextet - "Jazz Time Paris" Vol. 2 (Vogue, 1954 first UK 10" pressing)

A fantastic 10" of Gryce and Brown recorded in Paris on the 8th October 1953. Funnily enough I was bidding on a copy of this a while back which sold for £155. I then jumped on Discogs and bought the last copy for £10. The sleeve has seen better days but the record itself is superb!

Scarlett Johansson - Anywhere I Lay My Head

I pulled this album of Tom Waits covers out when I was binging his stuff on Wednesday night but it got a bit too late.

I’ve always enjoyed this album with its star contributions from Dave Siteck, Nick Zinner and a couple of vocal cameos from the man himself, Mr David Bowie!
