André Previn / Herb Ellis / Shelly Manne / Ray Brown - 4 To Go! (CBS, 1963 First Pressing)
This was an unexpected pleasure. I wasn't really expecting too much from this to be honest, and I have subsequently looked online but found very little information about the session. All I know is what I hear, and there's fantastic chemistry within the group. Previn's piano skills are sublime and he's constantly backed by Brown and Manne. Ellis has more than a few shining moments with some killer guitar solos which dovetail into Previn's piano. Really cool stuff here.
