What's Spinning

@Turbo's Recommended 2020 Releases

I've been discovering a lot of great new music this year. These are 2020 releases that I've been spinning a lot.

#1 The Buttertones "Jazz Hound"
#2 Baxter Dury "The Night Chancers"
#3 Jessie Ware "What's Your Pleasure?"
#4 Yves Tumor "Heaven To A Tortured Mind"
#5 Sammy Brue "Crash Test Kid"
#6 Sorry "925"
#7 Destroyer "Have We Met?"
#8 Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes "What Kinda Music"
#9 Automagik "Fluorescent Nights"

#10 Caribou "Suddenly"
I've been following Caribou since around Andorra, after seeing him at a small Montreal show with Junior Boys opening. I'm never disappointed with a new Caribou album and "Suddenly" is another winner for me. Maybe a little more experimental than the last few records, but Caribou music always has some left field psychedelic touches. Those experimental touches rooted into something accessible is what keeps me coming back. The standout tracks are "Never Come Back", "You and I", "Home", "Lime" and "Like I Loved You".

The last thing I listened to yesterday and the first thing hitting my ears today. This record is just too good. I swear I heard rumblings that this was stuff that was deemed "not good enough" to be released. That had to be a mistake. This record blows the doors off.

At that time though it probably wasn’t due to the absolute brilliance of what was being released. I’ve had four play throughs though and love it.

Also, what’s that book? I could look it up but you know...lazy
