Don Cherry - Cherry Jam (Gearbox Records, 2020 RSD 45RPM Pressing)

This is a stand-out RSD release from Gearbox. The session is taken from the original tape of a 1965 Danish radio broadcast, and cut at 45rpm. Sounds fantastic and a really great set of tracks as well, I just wish it was longer!

The Jazz Messengers Featuring Art Blakey - Ritual (1957/58 Mono....Mystery Pressing???)

Im always baffled by this pressing. It has the original first pressing sleeve, but with an World Pacific Jazz label (which I cant find online) and 'Bonus Record. Not For Sale' stamped on the back of the sleeve. I do know that Columbia 'traded' Art Blakey for one session in exchange for one session with Chet Baker, which is cool. Its a killer session with Jackie McLean featuring on sax.

A classic for sure. The only record in the VMP Boxset which I already have.

Listening to a bit of this 3 CD set which features tracks recorded from 1967-70 and were at the time of this release in 2005, bar 6 tracks were all unreleased .
