What's Spinning

here is another great story if you do not mind me adding Uncle D ?

The Stones had all been in the hotel bar, & after a while, Charlie, and his wife Shirley retired to their room & went to sleep, Mick stayed a while longer. After a while, (a good couple of hours) The phone goes in Charlie's room, when he answers, an obviously worse for wear Mick says "can I speak to my drummer". So instead of ignoring or threatening him o the phone, he simply got out of bed, got a shave, got dressed & went down to see Mick, he knocked on his door & when he answered, Charlie grabbed him & pinned him to the wall, & said "I am not YOUR drummer, and if you ever dare refer to me in that manner again, I will fucking kill you"
That’s a great story.

I saw this portion of an interview Charlie gave to the Guadian back in 2013 and it made me chuckle…

"For years I never talked to the press. Somebody asked me why I didn’t, and I said, ‘Well, I don’t really feel like talking. I don’t like it.’ I still don’t. I trust the others to say whatever they say on my behalf. They never say things I disagree with. I'm not very sociable. I'd rather be sitting listening to the radio." - Charlie Watts
