What's Spinning

Oh, man! I wish I were around for A Blowing Session! I didn't even realize they did that one.
It was part of 4 releases they did with each being 45rmp on 2LP's per set, funky coloured vinyl and thick gatefolds. I would say they were one of the best 'sets' that VMP has released to date and I really wish they went down this route more often. The 4 releases were:

Eddie Gale – Eddie Gale's Ghetto Music
Charlie Rouse – Bossa Nova Bacchanal
Johnny Griffin – A Blowing Session
Donald Byrd – Stepping Into Tomorrow

The Eddie Gale and Donald Byrd seem to be the most popular but they seem to occasionally pop up for resale at an affordable price.

Mike Taylor Quartet ‎– Preparation (Sunbeam Records, 2021 Limited RSD Pressing)

I really do think that this album has been slept on since its RSD release, especially when you consider the 'follow up' album is one of the most sought after British jazz albums. It comes with a really comprehensive booklet (really like a small book) and a reproduction poster as well.
