Journey - Escape (1981, reissue 2021)

Journey's albums, for some reason, seldom get vinyl reissues. So I was surprised to see Walmart put out this coke bottle press of Escape, their biggest studio album. Very cool as a huge Journey fan. Sounds decent enough too

Don Cherry - The Complete Blue Note Recordings Of Don Cherry (Mosaic/Blue Note, 1993 First Box Set Pressing)

It would have been Don Cherry's 85th birthday tomorrow so I have spent the afternoon listening to all 3 of his releases for Blue Note as lead (‘Complete Communion’, ‘Symphony for improvisers’, and ‘Where is Brooklyn') which are collated in this fantastic Mosaic box set.

Great record. Too bad Rebecca is not with them anymore. She's been working at my place which is funny to see. Hearing she's touring with Malkmus at some point too.

I loved Acid Communion so much that I rushed out and grabbed the self titled Bone Church debut. Plus learned a new kind of genre that I will be paying attention to from now on: Doom-Blues. The bonus live tracks on this reissue are killer.
