What's Spinning

WH Lung - Vanities

I really enjoyed their excellent debut (and thanks to @ByersVinyl not just for introducing N&G to it as his record or the month but sending it me as well). But this for me is even better. I've never been a massive fan of 80s music but have been getting into quite a lot of it recently such as New Order and the Cure so this fit right in. Love it.

@Poly-Rythmo, easily one of my albums of 2021 that- joyous.

Puscifer – Live At Arcosanti

Starting off my #TopPurchasesOf2021 - and I'm spinning this one again.

I really liked Existential Reckoning, but this live version just sounds so much better - and I really don't know why. I think I'll have to play the studio version sometime soon and see what is so different.

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue (Columbia, 2021 Analogue Productions UHQR Pressing)

I installed my stylus upgrade (way easier than expected) and decided to take Kind Of Blue on the test run as it's an album I know pretty well. I did read that it typically takes a few plays to 'warm' the stylus but god damn the difference is noticeable already. Jimmy Cobb's cymbals sound a lot less harsh (not sure how else to describe it). The most noticeable difference so far is just how full the instruments sound. The trumpets and sax's really come across as being meatier with a more pronounced tone. I'm super happy with this as I was worried I wouldn't notice any differences, so I went in a bit sceptical. I can't wait to hear other albums I'm equally familiar with!
