Played my Stevies out of order but this is a great one to finish with. And another one in this great series of obscure regional Malian orchestras from the 70s (although I could do without the fake crowd noise dubbed on).

The Mike Westbrook Concert Band - Mike Westbrook's Love Songs (Deram, 1970 First First Factory/Test Pressing)
A British jazz rarity. This is a factory/test pressing of Mike Westbrook's 1970 album "Love Songs". Im currently reading trumpeter Ian Carr's book, "Music Outside", which provided an observation on the contemporary British jazz scene in 1972. Westbrook talks about his recordings and how Love Songs was a luxury, something he recorded without trying to appeal to audiences specifically but because it was something he wanted to record.

One of my favourite mash-ups. And one of my favourite French sayings - literally "look after your onions" for mind your own business. I still remember laughing so much at a v inappropriate moment of a solemn film in Paris when me and two mates first discovered this. Great album too...
