I was going to post this on the new spin challenge, but can a record only 100 peeps have added on Discogs really have a deep cut if no one would recognize it.

cindy lee - what’s tonight to eternity (2020)
pat flegel/cindy lee is probably my favorite musician working today, but not always for the faint of heart. some of the most heartbreaking melodies and inventive guitar playing out there, but only if you can get through the layers of screeching noise (which have their own cathartic appeal…)

sam gendel and antonia cytrynowicz - live a little (2022)
whenever i buy new music, i tend to steer away from the big, ambitious, consequential albums of the year, and towards pleasant little experiments like this one, an improv collaboration between a nu-jazz sax-player/polymath and a precocious 12-year-old cooing improvised lyrics. ends up sounding a lot like tirzah, and pairs well with a nightcap

i’m hopelessly out of space. trying to deaccession but all of my box sets spark joy!
that said, is it really so bad to stack a few records on their side?

It's not desirable - a fast track to warped records, especially with a heavy behemoth like that VU set. Need to store them vertically.
