Fun fact - when I was a teenager my soccer coach was British and would just shout at us all the time "You're playing like rubbish!" He also bought us a six pack for each goal we scored. I miss the 80's.
John Surman - How Many Clouds Can You See? (Deram, 1970 First Pressing)
The Jazz Couriers Featuring Tubby Hayes And Ronnie Scott - The Last Word (Tempo Records, 1959 First Factory/Test Pressing & First Pressing)
Here's a couple of British jazz gems to end the day. I think I have mentioned this before, but I saw the John Surman on Discogs last year and asked the seller a bit more info about the condition (the disc was listed as NM which I am always sceptical of, especially for a 50+ old record). Tuned out that the seller literally lived down my road so we met outside of my flat and chatted for a while. He bought the record new in 1970 in preparation for seeing Surman live at one of the local pubs. He played it once but it was too much for him, so he shelved it never to be played again.
I've been obsessed with this record and especially her life story since I heard about it. It needs to be made into a movie and it I had producer money I'd do it myself. She's the outlaw country musician of Brazil and was a tough as nails woman.
