What's Spinning

US Terre Haute pressing. 2nd pressing maybe. A nice Elvin Bishop lp. The guest artists include Dickey Betts & Charlie Daniels.
I was unfamiliar with this one but I have been on a bit of a Capricorn kick recently (I just picked up a nice copy of Dickey...or... err..."Richard" Betts solo debut) so I gave it a preview on Spotify and wow, this album bangs! I am gonna keep my eyes peeled to see if I can find a good copy.

1999 Classic Records reissue (done right). A tour de force album from Stephen Stills. Blends so many styles into a seamless whole. Recent Cogs purchase. I don’t have a good condition og to compare this Classic reissue to but this copy looks/plays like new and sounds sublime.

I ordered this directly through Vagrant back in February.
I’m on my second listen. Sounds better than I was expecting. This album is a sleeper.

Still available

Yeah, I slept on it when it was originally released. When I saw this reissue was announced and after relistening to Shame About Ray a lot following that awesome reissue; I gave it a listen and really enjoyed it. Haven’t spun mine yet but it’s good to hear that it it sounds good.

Good purchase! This album, in 1973, helped me make up my mind to move to Colorado as soon as I graduated from school in Missouri. I love it and play the OG regularly.

Miles Davis – Tune Up
1977 2x LP Comp from Prestige.

I found this one for $10.
It sounds incredible!
I like to judge a jazz 20220829_192347.jpg20220829_192437.jpgrecord by the piano and this one is warm, musical with keys that move through the room (Monk, Silver, Lewis). Miles sounds as good as he possibly can. Blakey, Heath, Rollins... so much talent here included.

Props to Dave "The Cutter" Turner remastering!

This may be the best $10 I've spent.
