What's Spinning

I have been doing a deep dive into Capricorn Records recently; Grinderswitch, Delaney & Bonny, Cowboy, The Outlaws, Johnny Jenkins, Wet Willie, Sea Level, amongst others have been pleasant personal discoveries.

Reckon I'm gonna have to check out some of those others!

Grinderswitch was introduced to me in the pages of the 33 1/3 book on the DBT's Southern Rock Opera. I streamed their stuff and quite liked it, figuring I'd likely have to order their stuff online until lo and behold two days later I was at a random junk shop with a buddy scouring what vinyl they had and I found this one! I've acquired a couple of others since, but that was an auspicious start for sure.

It’s funny how that works out. It always feels like it was meant to be when that happens. I had a similar experience this weekend at a flea market. I’ve been really into Elvin Bishop’s stuff since @POGunter posted one of his solo albums on here a few weeks ago and it felt like every bin of albums I flipped through had at least one Bishop album in it.
