Very cool! I have never seen an original Transition in the wild before, they just dont seem to appear here in the UK.
I do have Japanese pressings of Donald Byrds' 'Byrd Blows On Beacon Hill' and 'Byrd Jazz' and they sound great. I kind of regret not getting the SAM records Byrd Jazz though...

Hearing such scorching sessions as this makes me wonder if there were influences other than the quality that had them shelved. Im guessing they were just so over-saturated with recordings that they had to make some tough decisions.

Such a killer group, everything they release is just so so good! I've seen them live a few times in the past but not since they released this album. Looking forward to seeing them perform some of the tracks live at some point in the future!

I got this for an absolute steal when I went a little wild on ebay recently. It caught my eye from a Japanese seller when I was closing out my Carolina Soul haul, and I'm pretty sure I was the only bid on it in the end!
It's a delightful listen.

That's awesome. I love that specific record of his. He really nailed the psych-electropop he was going for on it and managed to give the whole thing a sort of sleazy late night karaoke vibe (as portrayed by the cover), if that makes sense.

They were my #1 back in the day. I liked Nirvana and Soundgarden, but absolutely LOATHED Eddie Vedder's voice when Ten was released. Crazy how things change.
