wish my copy were a little cleaner—i had another one at one time that i let go of, and i think i maybe sold the wrong one
still, i definitely consider myself lucky, K records is a shitshow when it comes to reissues and after sam jayne's unfortunate passing, it seems ever more unlikely.

Sun Ra & The Arkestra – Sound Of Joy
After a few years holding out on contemporary reissues of questionable sourcing, I finally snagged this relatively minty (save for a single corner bump) early 70s copy of one of my absolute favourite Sun Ra albums.
Recorded in 1956 but not released until 1968, this may well be one of the most readily accessible Ra releases and many of the tunes here would be staples throughout the remainder of his career, often revisited in radically different incarnations.
If you enjoy jazz but feel daunted, overwhelmed or even put off by Sun Ra, I'd recommend you give this one a try.

Coleman Hawkins – The Hawk Returns
Another one I've been wanting for a few years now. There have been plenty of reasonably cheap copies available the whole time but they were made unreasonably not cheap once shipping was factored in. Fortunately this one was reasonably priced with reasonable shipping and bundled with a few other titles. Side B features an uncredited Sun Ra on piano!
