On this day in 1983, I saw the first show of U2's 'War' tour in Chapel Hill.

This was a benefit show with all proceeds going to children's charities.

It was a nasty day. Rained like hell. All the bands still brought it, and that crazy-ass Bono climbed the scaffolding during a downpour.
