About 31 years ago my parents bought this on cd and about 30 years and 351 days ago I stole it (along with their copies of Out of Time and Fables). I spent years of travelling across Europe with them spinning them in the backseat of ropey cars in my portable cd player and those copies are still with me in my loft. But for those who think their parents don’t shape their tastes in music then among many, many other bands REM are one that my mam and dad thought an 11 year old would dig. And they were right. Possibly the first band I really, truly loved and one I still really truly love today. So thanks mam, thanks dad. Spinning this one for you.
