What's Spinning

We make very different choices for listening around the youngun’s. Not a judgement statement just an observation.

He's actually the one that got me listening to Slayer. At least actively anyway. Started as an innocent joke because he was really into doing the 🤘 around the time he turned 3 and so I got him to start yelling "SLAYER!!" while doing so. Then a month or so later he asked what Slayer was so I played a bit for him and he LOVED it. So it became a thing. At first I figured he wouldn't understand the words anyway, but now I'm not even too worried about that - he's got a remarkably great understanding already at 6 about how some things he might hear in music and movies (or even sometimes out of the mouths of his parents or their friends) aren't necessarily things for him to be repeating but he's also welcome to ask me about anything he does hear and wonders about and we'll have a very straightforward conversation about it.

I was originally slightly concerned about possible blowback from his mom, since she spent years looking for any excuse she could to blowup at me and accuse me of terrible things, but she's always been more of a metalhead than I ever was and has since put him on to Sepultura and Death, so there's that! 😂

(And, to be fair, he did attend a TOOL concert in utero, so...)

I assume this was a solid purchase? I think I’m gonna throw my copy on after I finish this play through of the Rhino Hifi Cars in the sennis. (Yes it’s pretty freaking awesome sounding)

It was a little noisy too first spin but where it was quiet it sounded great. Had to stop it in a couple of places to take fluff off my needle. May re clean it before the next spin!
