Man, how many hours a day/week do you estimate that you spend listening to your phono setup? You post daily in this thread and usually more than once. I’m really impressed by your efforts, wishing I could spend more time listening - and I’m retired! How do you do it? 👍

In all seriousness though, I left my job back in the spring to do the stay-at-home Dad thing which has become more of a househusband thing since the 2-year-old started full-time daycare a couple of months back which gives me a lot of extra time at home. Our home is a two-floor condo with bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and the downstairs is basically one wide open room with the exception of a galley kitchen and hot water tank closet/pantry, so the vast majority of my chores and leisure are spent within short distance of the turntable - if I'm upstairs, I'm streaming, and in the kitchen it depends what time of day and whether others are around as to whether I turn the receiver up more than usual or just bring my Bose and stream. I've been increasingly less inclined toward movies or TV the past few years, preferring to play music and read more often than not. I'm also blessed to have a very patient and understanding wife.

I'd say I'm typically awake 17-18 hours a day and will have music playing for 12-16 of those hours (even when I was working my last job, I was fortunate to usually be able to get 3-7 hours of listening in during an 8 and a half hour work day). How much of that time is with the phono setup and how much is with the Bose or the stock car stereo varies but other than New Release Fridays, and most Saturdays as a continuation, the phono setup will be the default whenever circumstance and setting allows.

That’s just awesome and I congratulate you for your steadfastness to listening. Having an understanding and sympathetic partner in our particular hobby is a blessing.

Dude, I might ask the same question of you that I asked @avecigrec, how do you spin so much vinyl? 😁👍

I've been working from home for 10+ years. Music room is the same as my home office, so it's how I spend my day when i'm not in meetings. Instead of having inane conversations at an office, this site & spinning records is my water cooler conversation in the workday, but with a much better class of people.
