This record hit in between genres musically and I don't think anyone knew exactly what to do with it. It was way too smart and daring for 'country' radio, has desert psych, surf and rockabilly elements. Discovered it via my buddy Rob Daves (RIP brother, I'm still crushed) at WNCW. A really beautiful, ambitious under the radar record.
