The Charlatans - Different Days
They never really fitted into the Britpop days but the Charlatans are my favourite band of that era. Each album is distinct and has a different style (perhaps a bit like Blur, but I just prefer the Charlies). For a few months, when I was 17-18, I wanted to be Tim Burgess. I don't *love* their most recent stuff like this but it's still pretty damn good.

I was probably too negative. I have both of them and definitely their best (I think) since Wonderland and before, even if not quite up to peak level. Always were such a great live band. Haven't seen them for a long while as they don't tend to come out here but have seen them 20+ times, almost all in the 90s, and some of my favourite gigs...And they are still great live.. last two albums have been really good imo
