It’s funny how time changes your taste. I used to hold this album up as an example of why I didn’t rate Bowie’s work. Now, it plays to my ear as full of energy and a record much denser in instrumentation than I ever gave it credit for. Like, how did I never really hear the wailing sax or intricate vocal percussion in Ricochet? The whole thing is ruddy brilliant.

I love this GH, but I keep forgetting it was a Radio-Only Promotional Issue............meaning, one line in Jet Airliner was edited. "........funky shit" was edited to "......funky kicks". You know what this means right??? I need to go find a Book of Dreams OG Pressing, lol.

John Coltrane - Dakar - 70s Japanese pressing.
I'm blissfully "working" my way through my latest delivery. I love the spirit and energy in these Prestige sessions. This copy sounds great, I love the detail of sticking with the original "fireworks" labels too.
I'm really, really, hoping I can hold off buying the new Coltrane '58 collection by looking out for quality, affordable options like this. Anyone want to run bets on how that goes?

Continuing with the same label but a different kind of trippy. You can be well assured that when I play the title track, the volume will be cranked accordingly.
This is as good as it gets. NM original copies don't exist. I tried for years.

Allright, so my wife and I hosted a firepit/cookout tonight. I had a playlist going on the computer going all night. When everyone was about to leave, one of my good friends' daughters who is no more than 7 years old, requested 'No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn' to be played! Of course I queued it up for her. As we are cleaning up, I dedicate this spin to her.

Yeah 2018, I really like this album, too. My top 10 for sure. I think my top albums of 2018 were Tash Sultana – Flow State, Mitski – Be The Cowboy, or Courtney Barnett – Tell Me How You Really Feel.

Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest (2009) - It's hard to believe that this album was released ten years ago today ... This is the only Grizzly Bear album we own on vinyl but I do love a lot of their stuff. We also have the "While You Wait For The Others" single from this one, which has Michael McDonald on vocals.
