What's Spinning

Go Sox! I haven’t been to Wrigley since they finished the remodel. Hopefully it’s lost some of it “Charming” features. That sounds like an awesome show though. Enjoy Chi-town!
Thanks, I've never been. Looking forward to some Baseball, Music and a record store or two.

Slowly getting to all the stadiums, it'll be nice to get to Wrigley and whatever they call the Sox stadium these days. White Sox may be the better team this year with all those signings and young guys.

Go Phils!

My collection #43

Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou - The Vodoun Effect

Possibly my favourite Poly-Rythmo compilation. Totally mad to think that most of these songs was recorded with only one microphone and all the band fanned out behind the singer. Such amazing and funky music. Lucky to have got a lot of these in OG now as well.

Yeah, I am cautiously optimistic for the upcoming season. The Sox stadium currently called Guaranteed Rate Ballpark but Comiskey Park always works too. Speaking of the Phillies it looks like they are retiring Halladay’s # on the anniversary of his perfect game this season.

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!

michael kiwanuka - kiwanuka

i’ve had this since release but this is the first time i’ve spun it. saw him on monday night, dude blends so many styles and does it seamlessly. this was my third time seeing him and probably was the best. only disappointment for me was that he pretty much played the edited version of cold little heart. lots of other songs got room to breathe, though, so i guess there had to be sacrifices made somewhere.
