Shamefully, this was my first Prince album on vinyl. I celebrated my 40th birthday last year at a bar in London where a Prince tribute band was playing, and it was a bit stupid to think I had none of them at home. This remedied that and was one of my best bargains, off Discogs new of all places. Such a great 4 LP set.
A bit of a curio from my favourite Ghanaian singer - feels like a live set with drop-ins of songs like "My Girl", "Lively Up Yourself", and Thomas' own classic "Gyae Su". I got this from deadstock Mr Bongo found and happy to have it.
His first album, Homesongs, is in my all-time top 10 and this is not far behind. Kind of part of the folktronica scene (he was in a band, Fridge, with Kieran Hebden before) but mostly just great.
