What's Spinning

My collection #113

Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou - Echos Hypnotiques

Second of three Analog Africa compilations of them. In many ways, it should be my favourite - it has their best recorded stuff from their main label, and it is great. But somehow it's about my least favourite of the trio as there's something more charming about their less well recorded stuff. Still, this is undoubtedly some of the funkiest music ever recorded.

Lee Morgan - Candy (Blue Note, Classics Records Mono Limited Pressing)

Glad I picked this up rather than continuing to wait for the (non-existent) affordable first press to pop up. The level of detail Classic Records went into is pretty impressive, all the way down to a reproduction label and deep groove. The music is amazing, superb quality and certainly up there!

Spins so far.....

Todd Rundgren “Runt” 1971 Allentown reissue. Oldie from the stacks just play graded and entered into my Discogs collection.

Raspberries “Starting Over” 1974 US Capital pressing. Another oldie added.

The Strokes “Is This It”. New reissue because the collection needed some Strokes.

The Third Mind S/T. New band highly recommended on here a few pages back. Solid album.
