What's Spinning

His 70’s European and American Quartets output is really good too, half a dozen albums that are pretty good, a bit more adventurous sounding for the most part with Sax.
My collection #119

Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, Jack DeJohnette - Still Live

I'd long wanted to get more Jarrett but was a bit daunted by the range (and quality) of his career. But then @agutierrezb said this was his favourite Jarrett and I loved it when I streamed. I was so happy to find a mint OG copy of this yesterday. It sounds fab.

Wow, awesome record! I'm so glad you decided to give it a try and enjoyed it :)

Cross post from the March Challenge Thread:

DAY 4 – Bass!

John Coltrane ‎– Chambers' Music (Sonet, 1960 First Swedish Pressing)

This rarity is actually a re-branded copy of the 1957 album 'Chambers' Music: A Jazz Delegation From The East' by the bassist Paul Chambers. Chambers was a constant figure in the golden era of jazz and features on some of the best albums of all time. Therefore it's a shame that Sonet decided to plaster Coltrane on the cover and rebrand the album (he was clearly a bigger star and they wanted to profit). It's a killer album, well worth listening to!

The agutierrezb 2019 record collection challenge

So I've decided to embark on my own personal challenge, which consists of listening every record in my collection before the end of the year. My record collection is not that big -only ~250-, but I still feel like there are a bunch of records I don't give enough attention to, while still adding more titles to my shelves.

For this reason I've set a couple of rules in order to play every record at least once before December 31st: I'll play at least one record a day, going from front to back in the way I have them sorted in my shelf. I can play a different record (i.e. Not the next one in alphabetical order) if I feel like listening to something else in any given moment, but at least one of the records I spin in the day has to be the LP in turn.

I didn't take pictures for the first two days, but I'll try to document the process from here on, so I'll be posting daily on this thread. Wish me luck!
#156: Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

One of those records I remember when I was when I first listened. An artwork I'm grateful for it being released during my lifetime.
