What's The Most Valuable Record In Your Collection?

Sorted by median, there's actually a good number of things on here I plan on selling soon because I just don't play them, might even buy other, cheaper copies of a couple of things. Ignore the Undertale Soundtrack, and the redundant Hounds of Love - those have already been sold. Also, I don't have an extra Sgt. Pepper's Mono, I bought one before going for the whole box to see what it was like, kept the one I had and passed the one that was in the box to a friend before they started going for ridiculous prices.

Had no idea this Weird Al box existed. I love it.

Please, I need to know more about this and your Weird Al fandom.

dude, the box is an ACCORDION.

this guy does a pretty good job of giving an overview. really nothing i can add that he doesn't address. he isn't wrong that the record sleeves themselves are about as flimsy as you'll ever see, but i suspect it was the only way to get them to fit nicely in the 'bellows' without risking increased damage. there were some extra goodies like socks, pennant, magnets, and whatnot included. the whole thing was a pledgemusic deal, offered in vinyl and cd formats, and i threw down for the ~$500 vinyl version that came with a signed test pressing of one of the albums of your choice- i picked 'uhf' because that his his best record, don't try to change my mind.

like a lot of kids of the 80s, weird al was the first artist i got in to. i remember doing a terrible and unfunny lip synch performance to 'like a surgeon' in my elementary school's talent show, operating on a stuffed bear. i certainly credit him for introducing me to a lot of artists and styles early on that have no doubt influenced my listening habits and willingness to listen to a wide variety of music as i got older. i basically grew up with him and have followed him ever since, even if i haven't given his records post-2000 much attention. i've seen a few of his shows over the years, his 2013(?) bonnaroo show and the fairly recent 'self indulgent' tour being the most rewarding as a longtime fan. prior to the box set, i think the only vinyl record of his i didn't have (that had been released on the format, anyway) was 'off the deep end', so the box set basically just filled those holes where the album hadn't been pressed yet. to date it is the most i've ever spent on anything vinyl related, and it was worth every penny, warts and all. if i had more to spend, i'd have probably even gone for one of the limited-to-27 test pressing sets: "Weird Al" Yankovic - The Complete Test Pressings

there was also a rarities disc included, that had this great video:

Absolutely amazing, I’m speechless. I love these kind of stories about niche music passions. I really appreciate the share.
