Wilco (The Thread)

Wow! Thank you! This will keep me company while screen printing T-shirts this afternoon. I've been streaming what's available, but an really excited to hear the rest of the early takes. 🙏🤘

And karma steps in:
I've been thinking about making my own bespoke Wilco lyric Ts for my own personal use.

Just some deep-dive Lyrics with no other context - just a sly wink for those in the know.
Maybe you can educate me?

I'm thinking dark color Ts with the lyrics handwritten in white or yellow...a DIY kind of look.
But as a 40s Husband/Dad of a Teen - its needs to have a little polish or the fam is going to riot.

Solving the Tshirt issue is easy - but - what materials do I use to make this idea work?
Any thoughts would be welcome.

Just DM'd you!

Yup. At least with Wilco we know they generally put out solid pressings and packages, but I'll wait to see reviews to confirm before picking it up (though I do love the album).

I got the Super Deluxe YHF (yes, I know...) and quality was not good. Soundwise very good, but four records quite warped.

Ah, that's a shame. I bought the super deluxe on CD but all my Wilco records are fantastic (admittedly I'm missing a few). Guess it makes sense they are also having QC issues with the rest of the industry.

Insta-bought the 2xLP Color Variant.

bummer. I have the 7LP set and they are all very flat and sound excellent. hope you can get a replacement and it will be okay for you!

I took the four records to my record store where they're flattening them as we speak. They'd rather do that than send it back. They're mates of mine, so a good solution for all, I guess. (But it does say something about the current state of pressings that they bought a record flattener...)

one of the shops somewhat near me has a flattener I think and they mostly use it on older warped pressings since they sell a lot of used albums. i've debated getting a flattener myself but not sure how often I would use it.

Have to remind myself that this is a truly double album (21 tracks over almost an hour and 20 minutes) and the price makes a little more sense
they also traditionally put a LOT of care into the vinyl pressings. can't really think of a bad sounding Wilco vinyl release lately. Always get top engineers and they are pressed well in my experience.

For all of these reasons, but above all the band having my heart, I unclenched my bony fists and released to them my dollars.
