join us and ditch boxes on your shelves ;) i play my box sets so much more now after I did that. the boxes themselves all go in giant bins in the basement aside from a select few that look cool and i put on top of one of my shelves.

I got the Being There and Summertheeth Box because the outtakes/live stuff had some deep cuts not available anywhere else.

I actually listen to that stuff quite a bit for the caffeinated Wilco dipped in punk/Jeff really going for it version of the band that that we just don't get any more - and I miss that.

You just store the records in the Paper/Cardboard sleeves on your shelf?

I've been keeping an eye on inventory, but haven't looked today. Guess it's moving a bit more quickly now.

Was hoping to get a solid review or two on sound and QC before taking the plunge. Unfortunatley, on the comments I've seen suggests that the vinyl comes in white paper sleeves. A head scratcher, just inexplicable and inexcusable at this MSRP.

Bro, I ditched my boxes an along time ago, they are in large storage bins in the basement. My point was, I get the joy in shelf candy and why that would appeal to some but for me, even if I were to keep them in the box as a package upgrade (thought the jackets on the regular are still top notched) It still would be a detriment to me playing the albums.

ah gotcha. same. i have actually listened to the other bonus discs on the wilco box sets more than i anticipated after ditching the boxes. but i know lots of people just prefer streaming those instead or don't pull out the vinyl more than once.
 
Ya, thus far I’ve bought every Wilco deluxe/box color version they’ve released. All have gotten multiple spins from me. They’re a joy. This is the first one I’ve paused at, honestly with the fundamentals being CD only, that’s a big reason, but I also get that they kind of have to exist on CD with their runtimes.

Good news - my cousin is a huge fan and has recently gotten into vinyl (bought a Theory on my recommendation, for the record!) and forwarded me his download for this, so I get an audition!
