ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN TO GET TOGETHER ALL OF OUR YEAR END LISTS AND MAKE A COLLECTIVE FORUM YEAR END MEGALIST!!!!

Rules:
Everyone has 100 points distribute to their favorite albums of the year, however the most points you can give to a single album is 20 points. I'll calculate all the points up and post the master list in the beginning of January.

Also feel free to share your favorite songs/concerts/music videos/etc... of 2020

Welp, I guess I'll start since my list is really short. These are the only 2020 albums that I bought (and possibly the only 2020 albums I've listened to more than 2-3 times):

Fiona Apple - Fetch The Bolt Cutters (20 pts)
Grimes - Miss Anthropocene (20 pts)
Laura Marling - Song For Our Daughter (10 pts)

The remaining 50 pts go down the drain. Note: I'm not including live albums or "lost" albums (like Neil Young's Homegrown).

20 pts - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Reunions
15 - Run the Jewels - RTJ4
15 - Moses Sumney - Grae
15 - Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters
7. Bob Dylan - Rough and Rowdy Ways
7. Sturgill Simpson - Cuttin’ Grass
7. Budos Band - Long in the Tooth

My list will be coming soon, I've been going through and finishing my backlog, as well as re-listening to everything I didn't have on regular rotation. My head must have been in a completely different place earlier this year, because I was very disappointed in the albums from Caroline Rose, CSH, and Fontaines D.C. when I first listened to them. I listened to all 3 again this last week, and called early 2020 me an idiot. While I don't consider any of those albums the artists best work, I'm no longer disappointed and actually enjoyed all three considerably.

EDIT: I was late to the game with Big Thief's Two Hands, which I recognize now should have been high on this list--what a great album, and what a grower! I'm not going to try to figure out how to make the changes necessary to add it now, but figured I'd add this note anyway.

EDIT 2: Ah hell, still listening to Two Hands and it definitely belongs on my list.

tbh if eternal atake also included LUV vs the world 2 (it is the deluxe edition) i would easily bump it up another point as its the best rap album of this year

I mean isn’t there a bunch of unreleased stuff on it?
From the tapes from the sessions back then. If we had a “top reissues” I’m with you, it’s one of my favourite purchases this year, loved every minutes of it. I’d have said the same about The Beatles and Esher Sessions and the recent Prince reissues, for other examples.

I don’t think that a 94 album from a legacy artist deserves to take kudos and focus from current artists and works. That’s my view though. As I said we don’t tend to be hugely stringent with rules around here.

I love that you have Mattiel on here, far overlooked album and artist.... Spotify says it was released in 2019, does it count?

Doh! Looks like you're right. Guess I'll get rid of that one and spread her points to others. Thanks! I checked release dates for a few others but thought I was safe with that one. Wrong.
