Discogs - Help, Tricks, Secrets And Tips

Anybody recognize this deadwax symbol? @LeeVing maybe?

View attachment 226215

Doesn't look familiar to me - first glance made me think of Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Scranton - but it doesn't seem to be the right "anvil"

I did find the release in Discogs without searching that runout matrix -

The stamps on side B are also a bit odd - never seen that arrow either.

Thanks! It’s my buddy’s record and we were trying to figure it out. He thought Scranton too but it’s definitely a different symbol.

Mysterious!

Found the sailors hat! MGM

I do mine with my printer and pirateship. I'm usually sending more than 3 at a time so it feels dickish to hand to the mailman, I usually drop 'em at the PO. If it's one-off, I'll ask the postman if he minds.
so i actually figured out how to do it with paypal, but it was 8something, so i used pirate ship and saves $3!

thanks for your help guys!

So, re: pirate ship

Between N&G and the Wax Supreme discord, I wind up doing a bunch of shipping of records, but it's like, one or two unless it's pifsgiving or pifsmas and then it's like, 30 of the fucking things. And like, NBD -- I got this printer for literally free from a local buy-nothing group on facebook, and I've been thinking about getting a label printer. Like, I'd only use it two or three times a year, but when I'd use it, I'd really use it, right? My current process is print the labels, cut them out, mark them with what's being sent, then I'll sit down at the desk with a stack of boxes, a stack of labels and a stack of records and then it's just....a bunch of tape, tape tape tape.

so obviously a label printer would cut out at least half the taping, right? but they're like $140, the last time I looked, even for a cheap POS.

And then my grilf says "well why don't you buy label paper that goes in your current printer? something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016CV811U and you don't have to buy a printer since you already have one"

I don't know if I'd just forgotten that those existed, or if I didn't know because I'm dumb, but given my use case and how lazy I am, it was a no-brainer.

my printer died so i got a thermal label printer for $40 on amazon that included 100 4x6 shipping labels...if you only use a printer to print labels, might be worth looking into next time...doesn't use ink so no ink refills.

I use those exact same labels from amazon in a standard printer in conjunction with pirate ship. It works very well.
