All band name jokes aside, AC Newman can’t be taking this news well. I remember back during Trump’s first run when republican’s were trying to ban porn and all mentions of it, he came out and said how difficult it was for his band to be taken seriously as art because of the name.

Well, now the band is forever tarnished because of this, I fear. Real ones will know, but I’ve got friends texting me not in the know talking about how it didn’t surprise them (because the band name)

Honestly, if I was in that band, I’d change it to something like the New We Can Not Make It Any More Abundantly Clear We Do Not Support or Condone That Dude or His Crimes in Anyway and We Find It Absolutely Vile and Horrific-ers. That is an insane position to be in, aligned creatively with someone who has done something that awful.
