I'm spinning Blur records. It's crazy to me how many sweet spots they hit. Alternative rock, indie, pop, grunge, electronic, whatever - they often shift genre from track to track within an album. What a band.

Excellent release today by the Icelandic band VAR called The Never-Ending Year out today. If you like Sigur Ros, Mew, and that vibe, you definitely need to check it out.

I can't believe this Fiona. Sitting here like a kid on Xmas morning listening at 4:50AM. I'm at Newspaper. I take a look and realize that Newspaper is only track 7 of 13. Double Xmas morning, just over halfway through!!! Insanely amazing.

I really don't know much about Prine but still feel the sadness of losing such an incredible man who has helped so many heal through music. These last two Fridays have been insane for new releases. I barely just made it through a once-over of everything I wanted to listen to from last week and now I dumped new albums by TOPS, Ellis, Thundercat, Yves Tumor, Jessie Reyez, Purity Ring, Empress Of and Anna Burch into my new music playlist. The spring is always overwhelming for new releases, hard to keep up!

They say music heals. I've never felt that more profoundly than now, during a time of collective crisis. Dunno about you but I'm feeling bouyed through all this by highs of overwhelming gratitude I feel towards musicians and their music. Kishi Bashi's live session on insta last night, and listening to Waxahatchee's new record this morning being just two recent examples.
