Applied for my first apartment, it’s literally the first apartment that I make enough to qualify for since I started working 14 years ago.Acquired my first pieces of vintage gear today, a Marantz 2238b receiver, a Kenwood KA-8100 Integrated Amp, and Kenwood Tuner for $600. The first two were recapped.Can I use an Audio Technica OC9XML with my Vincent Pho 8 ?As much as people dog on HPB in regards to records, my local location is far more likely to underprice a record than overprice it just scored over a dozen original Motown pressings that are all in immaculate shape.Finally found a copy of Phil Spectors Christmas Albums a 1975 repress yesterday at an overpriced local shop.Purchased what I believe to be my first two Run out groove re-issues and am very impressed, no other pressings of the albums to compare to but pressing quality and packaging is top notch.Someone threw a big rock through my driver side window overnight last night, needed to vent and this is my safe place.Found my first couple Tom Waits records in the wild yesterday at HPB.Always love my favorite record stores owner, look something up on discogs and determine the market price of something is $75 and get it for $10, his response “I got it for a dollar”I do my fair sure of complaining so I have to call out my 80th Horace Silver At The Village Gate for being ABSURDLY flat for a contemporary pressing, albeit anecdotal I would like to state it was sold and shipped by Amazon.I think magnepans were a silly idea for my roomThe Magnepan’s were not kind to Elvis Presley - Elvis PresleyThe Magnepans have been delivered, can’t wait to get them setup.Scored one of the German stereo Magical Mystery Tour pressings.Found a Living Stereo Soria series record on my cake day dig. Best packaging of any record I own.Whomever pressed the POTUSA reissues, you failed miserably.Another new record that isn’t warped. Whomever pressed “illmatic” for Columbia in Europe thank you.As I theoretically get closer to receiving my LRS I’m worried they may lead to a new amplifier.I feel fortunate to be a consumer of records when so many (especially jazz) high quality reissues are available.
