A sixth grader of mine was wearing a Ramones t-shirt today. I asked her about the band, she told me she had no idea who they were. Her homework: listen to the first album and report back to me.
You would think, based on a her reaction, that I had asked her to land a plane.
Can we talk about how underrated Velocity Girl were, and why hasn't there been a reissue campaign yet? Easily in the top five of my most listened to bands in the last 30 years.

Losing Mark Lanegan is a gut punch. I don't even know what to say about this one
I never thought the day would come, but I am actually at a point where I am finding records in my collection where I think to myself "I don't need this, I should sell this."
I guess it was inevitable that, after accumulating over 2000 LP's in my collection, there would be a bunch that I can just live without.
I've been telling my wife for years that I want to go see Bill Frisell with her.

My parents gave MadLucasTot #2 a toy leaf blower. I have changed the batteries twice already. He loves it so, so much that he even napped with it!
