I forgot to post my update on the "pet crematorium catching fire with my cat's remains inside" saga. Wiggles is back home, safe and sound. Based on the cremation certificate, she was cremated on the day of the fire, so it looks like she was taken care of right before things REALLY went up in smoke.



I miss her deeply, but I finally am starting to feel a sense of closure.

Flaming crematorium update: I haven't gotten through to them myself, but Wiggles' vet said one of their workers stopped by this morning and said the fire was contained to the roof and that they're still operating business normally. No pet remains were lost.

Wife's genetic test results just came back and she's negative for the BRCA2 breast cancer gene that killed her mom 11 years ago. Huge sigh of relief.

My saga with the VG+ discogs purchase that was actually closer to Fair+ has come to an anticlimatic conclusion: no further message from the seller, but a full refund. And not just on the messed up album I returned, either. I actually bought a second album from them and kept it, but they refunded that too. I half expect an "Oops" response from them at some point asking I partially refund their refund...
