  • Bandcamp day!
These USPS irritations are (almost) enough to make me quit buying records for awhile. Finally got one yesterday that took almost 30 days, now two more are at two weeks. One of them left Ann Arbor (12 miles away) and went to Pittsburgh.

@adrock - yep, I thought the same thing, that I may start paying more for less frustration...

The problem is priority mail gets...priority haha. So the sorting facilities are getting so overwhelmed right now that they are forced to just send certain items out to another facility. It's been a crapshoot for me. My bandcamp package from Moses Sumney took almost 40 days to arrive. Other items have arrived within a few days. Just seems to depend what hub it goes through.

Wow, 40 days. I'm guessing you were worried about the state of the package when it finally arrived. All good?
After 26 days, my record showed! I even got a call from the local branch of the post office to confirm that I received it. Once I saw how well it was packaged I wasn't worried about damage. Kudos to Acoustic Sounds for their shipping box.
Welp, time to report a coworker for posting a meme full of N bombs on FB on the company Wifi on company time. This should feel good. Unless the bosses ignore it.
It's funny that the tracking number isn't enough info for USPS to find my missing record. They are really concerned about the color of the package though...ummm brown? White maybe?

I have a record missing for almost a month, no response from USPS yet but it may have been diverted from airmail to sea transport from what I could gather on the USPS site.

They expect you to know the color of a package sent to you.....from someone else.....

That's what I was thinking too. It sure seems that the tracking number would be their best info.
"Ok everyone, we're looking for a brown or possibly white box!"
Tomorrow will be day 20 of a shipped record bouncing around in USPS. It left Kansas on June 3rd, arrived in Detroit June 11th and tracking shows it hasn't moved since June 15th. I guess I'll........wait some more.

Same boat, no tracking updates since may 25th for me...
Funny thing is other packages from the same period moved along just fine.

Call your local USPS office, they can investigate for you!

    Thanks @Memo
I filed a missing mail complaint today with my tracking number etc, I've never done that before. Hopefully it helps...
Fairly disappointed Netflix took down We Jam Econo. Did they run out of drive space?
Another 12+ day USPS delivery. I can't help but worry about the state of a record that has been kicking around for almost half a month since it left the warehouse.

It’s been real bad for media mail the past few months...

@MikeH It definitely has. I think it's a coincidence, but my last two shipments from Acoustic Sounds have been in the 2 to 3 week range.

Just seems to depend what hubs it travels through. Anything through jersey city for me takes weeks to arrive to me in NY. Items just sit there for weeks at a time.
Does anybody have a good source for downloadable WAV samples? Looking to add tuned percussion to my Alesis Sample Pad Pro. (Steel drums, specifically) Not looking for free necessarily, just want a viable trusted source, especially if I'm going to pay for them.
USPS has really been slow lately. My last four media mail packages had tracking info that gave me early hope by displaying a delivery date, only for that date to pass, then revert to no date given for about a week. The latest is my New West order. I am happy that nothing has been lost so far though.
It's so freaking sad when a couple that you and your s.o. are super close with break up isn't it? 25+ years for them. Hurting for them both.
Here's a Bandcamp Label to consider today. It's all Michigan independent bands featuring an eclectic mix of 80s punk, 90s jam band, plus some ska, singer-songwriter, Americana, and rock. Mostly digital content, but there is some physical merch and vinyl as well.
What's that perfect album when you stare too long at your records and nothing comes to you? I need that.
So is this the version of Pet Sounds I should order? (link in comments)

I have the 33 mono and will vouch for that one too.

Just want to add, everyone loved the 33s when they came out, no complaints. So, if I were you, I'd only go for the 45 if you know you'll get more out of it. Love my 33 mono.

Thanks folks! Leaning to the 33 over the 45, and I think I might order today.
