I could do with some advice. Someone in Russia wants to buy a record from me but Discogs has banned sales to that country. He/she said they have been using the address of an international friend to place orders but then request postage to Russia. Dodgy, no?
Brixton Academy have had their licence suspended whilst the police investigate the crush that killed 2 and left many injured. As someone that has attended gigs at the venue countless times its a real shock that this has happened. Hard to see what the venue can do though when so many people turn up without tickets.
Every day a shop here in London updates their Discog listings but with the EXACT same pricing, presumably to ensure they make it in peoples wantlists and email alerts. Properly infuriating, im close to blocking them.
Sad to hear that the legendary British pianist Terry Shannon has passed away. Terry was part of Tubby Hayes & Ronnie Scott's "Jazz Couriers" and played with countless musicians over the years.
Ron Carter has postponed his European tour due to health reasons. As far as I can tell it isn't massively worrying and relates to his back. Hoping he has a speedy recovery.
Stumbled across a really obscure record today still sealed in my local shop. An audiobook of 'Haruki Murakami – First Person Singular' narrated by Kotaro Watanabe, limited to 100 copies. Far too intriguing to pass up.
Phew. In the past 2 weeks I have sold and traded more records than the last 2 years combined! I mean, I have also added a couple of dozen as a result of this...but its the thought that counts....right?
