  • a discogs seller called me because he had never heard of the records being removed from the outer sleeve before shipping before... hmmmm

Yeah I always ship that way too, no matter what…same with box sets.

As a seller, I always ask people if they want me to unseal records and ship behind the sleeve if they are unopened. Most people lately ask me to keep it sealed because they want to experience opening the record themselves 🤷🏻‍♂️ If they are unopened I always ship behind the sleeve
always the big gamble, how limited is that VMP Rap track going to be. I really want 6 Feet Deep, but to re-sign up though... eh.

I went for the Gravediggaz, first R&HH in a while. I have the pic disc from 2018 and thought the quality was....ok. Hoping this one will be better
I hate when you buy a record you’re really pumped for but zero of the entries on Discogs matches it. I’ve got various identifiers of like 4 different releases and 1 identifier that isn’t anywhere in any of the releases.
is it just me or does including tracks on a album pressing not really intended for the album just something I dont ever want?
I do regret selling my Crystal Castles collection (besides the first album) now.

that was a "i need money" situation before I landed into my job years ago and they were selling moderately high back then too. now they're out of print and going for more than I'd reasonably want to spend to re-buy the three I dont have.

even if they went back to press I'd be hard-pressed to give Ethan any money.

I remember when my local was selling them for like $8 each in the clearance bin. I didn't know who they were but it was a bad enough look I avoided haha.

This is an underrated value of having records/CDs. When you find out someone is a creep you don't want to support monetarily, you still have access to songs that have become part of you. Sometimes someone's transgressions ruin the music for me, but sometimes they don't.
Anyone have any history with living near (about 5/6 blocks away) from a beach and having a record collection? Beyond buying a de-humidifier. Looking for advice.

there is a second floor. we are going to take a look at the place in a couple weeks, we're not totally sure we're going there quite yet, but the deal on the place is a literal steal for the area.

@wenis that's where I would store records, and make it as waterproof as possible. That would be my biggest fear - storm flooding.

Industrial grade dehumidifiers are amazing things. It's mind boggling how much water you can pull out of the air. Not beachside, but down the street from the SF bay and get a lot of ocean winds. Alongside collecting records I also collect hardcover comics and all my books are still in pretty pristine shape :)
Finally got a copy of Slipknot ‘Iowa’

Alright I bought a copy of Significant Other from Japan. So you’re welcome when some boutique label or VMP or Limp Bizkit themselves announce some sort of brand new Remaster with hand painted covers on 200g vinyl all analogue remastered by Kevin Grey and pressed at RTI next week.
I think its about time we as a society move past putting the price sticker on the record sleeve itself. lets just stop.
Why is that Slipknot - Iowa reissue so tough to get. Every US based seller is double the retail price. garbage.
ive got two more kallax cubes and one small box of 7" records to go and then I'll be done running everything through the humminguru. Praise Be!
Ended up having to ask my mom to grab me jugs of distilled water from her local grocer. It's dry in San Francisco.

distilled water supply has been cyclic for a long time now, at least in my area. it'll be fine, then out for a few weeks before more resupply comes in. i've stocked up as a result, and if i see it in i'll buy another couple gallons.
Finally I'm restocked in outer sleeves, inner sleeves, white and black cardboard sleeves and double disc cardboard sleeves... now if only distilled water were easier to find right now.

Seriously, what is the deal with this distilled water shortage?
I wish discogs would let you organize with custom labels. I really want to know how many records I've ran through the humminguru and forgot to keep count.

Could you export to a spreadsheet and then do a count? Guess it would be tough with 2LP sets.

Discogs could use a number of tweaks / upgrades. Imagine if they made a commission off all those sales to pay for such a thing?
