It's hard to say. Nintendo had about 25m lined up for production for year one, but with tariff nonsense who can say how that may impact their decision-making? It SHOULD be fairly easy, but then again bots may end up taking a lot of stock. So it's really down to the retailers and their bot prevention.

I didn't have any issues getting a PS5 with a bit of fanatic devotion to forums/twitter for a bit. I don't anticipate struggling too much to get one this week.
If this first pre-order will only be available at 12am EST on 4/24 like I'm seeing, I'll definitely wait for one that isn't on sale at a ridiculous time.

I'm definitely preparing myself to not land a pre-order. it'll be annoying for a life-long Nintendo fan like myself, but will be a nice surprise if I can.

the way things go with bots and scalpers I'm expecting a shit show... hopefully the pre-orders direct from Nintendo, which start in May, will be a backup if I didn't get a pre-order this week

They have more planned to ship in year 1 than any other console has. PS5 was limited by supply chain nonsense. It was fairly easy to get a Switch 1 at launch, I expect it'll be similar.

Retailers SHOULD just force in-store pre orders to bypass a lot of the scalping bullshit, at least for the first wave. It would go a long way to eliminating the secondary market. But they won't because they love moving as many units as bots buy.

I'm wondering if my best bet for a Switch 2 will be going into GameStop to pre-order one when they open at 11:00am instead of hoping online pre-orders didn't sell out by the time I wake up as I'm not wanting to be up at midnight for a pre-order.

Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time and I felt story wise it was superior to Skyrim, so I'm UNBELIEVABLY excited to dive into this in a few weeks when I get my projector / PS5 set up in my new place. This announcement just made my 2025.
I've never played, but it just finished downloading off Game Pass, so I'm going in!

Story, setting, quests, and overall vibe Oblivion clears Skyrim. I think combat, dungeons, and leveling is better in Skyrim. Some of the late game Oblivion going through the gates and into the different worlds are sometimes samey and look terrible. I'm excited to see what this remaster can do for cleaning up some faults.

Oblivion's great and I'm excited to play, but the one that would reeeeallly benefit from a remake is Morrowind. Unmatched vibes in that one but it's rugged nowadays. Hopefully eventually.
Yeah… that was something I had never played. Tried it on GamePass like 6 years ago and the mechanics turned me off. Got maybe 2 hours in and gave it up. I didn’t mind the quests not being shown exactly where to go on maps but the combat was terrible. It was a little similar to KOTOR, which I recently just played for the first time, but far clunkier.

The game really hits its stride when you're a few levels in and your attacks actually start hitting. Until then it's very annoying and off-putting. Which is a shame, but it's probably the most Immersive ES game. It really encourages and rewards exploration. Fantastic music too.
