the idea of art / artist separation is one that fascinates me

the list of men who were abusive of women (not to mention children) is exhaustive, to say the least...how do you feel about bowie, led zep, chuck berry, elvis, little richard etc. etc?

it's the same thing that's going on with the cultural conversation around morrissey at the moment - is the music he has created rendered void by his political ideology?

not saying this is a top of the year album but the legendary Doc Scott put out this compilation from his 31 Records, one of the most important labels in Drum and Bass. the compilation features important names in dnb as Klute , Marcus Intalex (RIP) , Calibre, Digital & Spirit among others plus many up and coming producers that had a huge influence on the scene in the following years.

might be worth checking out
cheers

Good question - I don't want to derail this thread, I'll only say that I think experiencing it real time is what shocked and disillusioned me, and the fact that he had a public face that was so supportive of female artists.

If we’re going to shit on people who made acclaimed records in 2014 but are horrendous people let’s not forget how much of an unbearable twat Mark Kozelek is

if people are going to continue to listen to Michael Jackson, I think I feel pretty good morally divorcing the art from the person for Mark
