August 2020 Challenge Thread - The Dog Days of Vinyl Playing

August 23 - Sunday, Sunday - Play an album that puts you in a restful state of mind

I usually stream when working as a mood hits: lofi for focusing, pop for blasting through work, general hits for the longer days. However, whenever I am super stressed, I know I can always fall back on a select few artists to calm me down. The fact that this supergroup is chock full of them is just a bonus. Ryland (Under the Apple Tree) is my go too but the whole album hits the sweet spot of relaxation without getting too slow - a leisurely transport elsewhere for a little bit.

Day 23: A Restful State Of Mind

This is a great listen with the migraine I've been chasing for a few days. I've been in this basement with the lights off - only to turn them on to take these pictures.

Waxwork Records ‎– WW012, 1978/2015

Compilation of Brüder Des Schattens - Söhne Des Lichts and On The Way To A Little Way (Soundtracks From "Nosferatu")

Day 24: Dave Chapelle's Birthday - Play an album that is funny or insightful

Ok I'll take the freebie. I think Kid Gorgeous at Radio City by John Mulaney is.the best comedy special in recent memory. Every joke hits. Horse in the Hospital is my favorite Trump joke and he doesn't even say his name. It's brilliance through and through and I needed this today.

Day 24
Funny

Johnny had a great sense of humor and a hell of a delivery. The last song on side 1 is a perfect example.

Johnny Cash -Greatest Hits Volume 1

(this is the only LP I don’t have the cover to, I bought it a yard sale in the cover to a Time Life Country Music compilation of Mr Cash)
