RIP Bob.
RIP Bob.
I do not hate these.
I love the 80s aesthetic. Back when the Cubs, Cards and Phillies wore them on the reg. I agree that it doesn’t make a ton of sense to wear them at home.I don't hate them either. However, I'm not a fan of this new trend of powder blue alternates. Especially for home jerseys. I didn't really watch baseball in the 80's so I have no nostalgia for them and they were mainly used as away jerseys. I believe St. Louis the only one that actually wears theirs on the road.
I can't say this out loud around other Phillies fans, but their powder blue alternate is probably my least favorite of their current uniforms.I love the 80s aesthetic. Back when the Cubs, Cards and Phillies wore them on the reg. I agree that it doesn’t make a ton of sense to wear them at home.
Forgot about the Royals as well. I've got a George Brett throwback that is nice. It makes more sense for teams that already have blue baked into their color scheme.I can't say this out loud around other Phillies fans, but their powder blue alternate is probably my least favorite of their current uniforms.
Although, I did go to the World Series game where they wore them and I bought a Bryce Harper powder blue jersey with the World Series patch at the game to commemorate the occasion.
I dig the powder blue but what I think should be revived is the V-neck pullover jerseys those are fantastic regardless of color.I love the 80s aesthetic. Back when the Cubs, Cards and Phillies wore them on the reg. I agree that it doesn’t make a ton of sense to wear them at home.
I’m the opposite. I grew up in Houston in the 80s, and although the Phillies broke the hearts of all Astros fans in that 1980 ALCS, I always loved those Phillies unis of that era. The home pinstripes were great, but there was something about those powder blue road unis that I just really liked a lot. Maybe because maroon and powder blue shouldn’t work together at all, but somehow it does? I dunno. I secretly liked a lot of the players on those Phillies teams as much as I liked the Astros players. That was an amazing series, but it did sting coming out on the business end of it.I can't say this out loud around other Phillies fans, but their powder blue alternate is probably my least favorite of their current uniforms.

Even though I grew up in central IL as a Cubs fan (converted to a White Sox fan in the Frank Thomas era) I had an awesome Astros jersey as a kid that I loved. I do agree that the powder blues work better as road unis, and I do like that idea of returning to the pullover V-neck style too.
