You should check out HGM if you haven’t as well.A few things here I've not listened to. Gonna add those to one of my queues!

I don’t know that I’d start with the new one. It’s a little Grateful Dead meets War on Drugs. I’d start with Quietly Blowing It or Terms of SurrenderLong enough ago that it's probably worth revisiting with the current ears...

The past couple weeks have been slammed with great music, especially weirdo pop:
Jaimie Branch: Fly or Die Fly (jazz)
Yeule: softscars (art pop)
Underscores: Wallsocket (glitch pop, indie rock) This album is absolutely batshit! Watch this song slip through genres seamlessly...
Slowdive: Everything is Alive (shoegaze)
Puma Blue: Holy Waters (r&b, art rock)
Chai: Chai (art pop)
Roisin Murphy & DJ Koze: Hit Parade (art pop, house)
Chemical Brothers: For That Beautiful Feeling (electronic, dance)
And (came out earlier but just discovered while digging for hip-hop)...
Navy Blue: Ways of Knowing (hip-hop)
Larry June + Alchemist: The Great Escape (Rap)
Q3 Update
Total 2023 releases (albums/EPs/mixtapes) listened to as of June 30:141219300
This quarter was kind of a struggle. It did spawn some top10 contenders, including one that will surely be there by year's end.
Plenty of mediocre and bad, unfortunately. Has anyone noticed how mediocre of a year it has been for R&B/neo-soul? One of my go-to genres for casual listening, and it has been far from great. I am still grasping to try and find some hope...thankfully the Tinashe mini-album and Puma Blue record have helped in the meantime. I have waned off of Kelela's Raven after a revisit.
This quarter chart has been reduced even further, shrinking from a 4x4 to a 3x5. This past week of listening saved it from being only a 2x5.
Saving releases from today to be considered for Q4. Entries are alphabetized by band name/artist last name.

Q2 Update
I do like Kali and Amaare's new releases, but only just "liked." I wished I could enjoy Janelle's as much as others have professed.I dunno. I love the new Monae, really enjoy the Puma Blue and like the Amaare. Was really disappointed by Kali's album and am leaning that way with Jorja Smith's that dropped today (but only got halfway through it while driving).
But I tend to be picky (love or hate) with R&B in the first place. Gonna check out the Tinashe off your rec.
That's how I felt about Dirty Computer which I was extrmely luke warm towards (after loving her earlier stuff). This one felt like everything I wish Anderson Paak would dabble in post-Malibu instead of the bland af route he has chosen.I do like Kali and Amaare's new releases, but only just "liked." Tinashe's album has half of its production courtesy of Machinedrum (Azaelia Banks), so I'm optimistic that'll work for you.
