Me spinning Manning Fireworks for the first timeā€¦

I don't love Manning FIreworks quite as much as some people (though I do really enjoy it).

That said, I saw Lenderman play the block party for my Chicago neighborhood right before that album dropped and he was excellent live. At the time I did not realize he is Wednesday's guitarist (maybe just in studio at this point) AND played on the new Waxachatchee (spelling is always off with them so forgive me) which is easily my favorite release from them.

Dude is quickly becoming one of the most prolific guitarists the modern era and straight up helping to churn out modern classics. Wednesday's Rat Saw God might be a top 10 album of the decade for me.

Yeah, heā€™s a wonderful guitarist. Looking forward to seeing MJ in February when he comes to Seattle.

Merry Christmas, y'all.

2024 had its moments. However, I'm not quite shouting praises on the mountaintops like others in the decade for music. Electronic has been a go-to...familiar genres like ambient and downtempo were mainstays of the year's rotation, but further exploring deep house, ambient techno, and progressive electronic proved fruitful. If anything, they were additional motivating factors to transition my vinyl collection preferences to genres that I will be frequently DJing with.
I have only seen three of the below live this year, with one of the below scheduled for next year (Astrid Sonne). Concert count was also halved from last year. Might post that list as well when time allows.

Here's my top10 (in order) + 15 honorable mentions (descending by band name/artist last name):

...are all gonna have to carry forward to next year's hopefula list, but James Brandon Lewis, Willie Nelson and Meshell Ndegeocello all put out a couple, so that helps the numbers, I guess.

Federico Albanese was due to have an album out this year, but it's coming February 7th next year instead (as is ANOTHER James Brandon Lewis album!)
