Best Music 🎶 of 2024!

Yo, thank you. Definitely some shit that completely off my radar. I'm only halfway through that Allegra Krieger album and already love it. Like if Hop Along and Soccer Mommy had a baby.

Working on my list and know what I'm probably giving points to but wanna play catch-up first. Also, I'm feeling obligated that Chappell Roan album a real listen so that all of my lady friends aren't outraged when I sent out my end of the year list.

I recommend subscribing to his newsletter, I think the email comes like once a week and they’ve been great

Your in luck Chappell’s album came out at the end of 2023 so it’s not eligible for this year.

You should still listen to it though it’s an incredibly fun pop record.

KA MENTIONED 🔥

The Line of Best fit is my favorite non-US publication. They usually have a ton of overlap with my lists. What's interesting is how little of the back half of theirs I've heard this year. Front end is great with a surprise #1 that I'm overdue to revisit:

I was not expecting to see that album at #1!

I'm not as hot on the new MJ Lenderman like everyone else, however, whenever I listen to it "She's Leaving You" demands repeated listens. What a mf'ing JAM. Song of the year potential with that track.
Update, I think this album is really solid. Definitely a grower. It's just vibing with me right now. Again, "She's Leaving You" is a classic. I cannot listen to the album and not repeat that track a few times in a row. It just misses out on my top 10 of the year by a nose.

Felt very much the same. That track is the one that makes you come back. I like the record but I wish the back end had a little more punch. (And the first few tracks too, for that matter).
