College Football

Could have easily gone the other way. Hell of a battle.
I know, it's just frustrating because this is the 2nd year where we had this type of situation and we just can't convert. It's either Quinn or it's Sark. 1st and goal from the 1. And you have Arch Manning standing on the sidelines who could've gotten you something but Sark is so intertwined with Quinn that he just has to ride or die with him. Ohio State was the better team no doubt but fuck we had such a puncher's chance yet again and we just can't covert. I guess I may just die with that Vince Young Rose Bowl as the lone championship I get to see in my lifetime. At least I have that but that was 20 years ago next year.

The CFP has been really good so far. Sure, you had blow outs in the opening round and the teams with the higher rankings lost in the 2nd round but Ohio State and Notre Dame have earned their way to the championship. It wasn't the media or coaches selecting a champion. It wasn't 1 vs 2 in an arguable ranking system or only the top 4 in an even more subjective system. Sure, you can argue how teams were ranked and who didn't get in but Ohio State was easily a favorite most of the year. Better teams have lost to rivals. Texas did it last year in losing to OU. Notre Dame was steady the entire season minus the Northern Illinois upset. You can argue the byes and who gets one. You can argue re-ranking the teams after the opening round. But this is the same battle FCS schools have to go through to crown a champion. Like the NFL, it can come down to who's hot (Ohio State) or who's less injured/gets lucky. I'm bitter Texas didn't make it to the championship but it was still a fun ride and I'll enjoy the final game because it's a classic matchup and Freeman is a great story.

I’ve enjoyed it and think they will learn and make the proper tweaks for next year before expanding it further and I am here for it especially now with transfer portals and NIA deals, why not make the CFP a full two month extension to the College season.

I think the portal has definitely leveled the playing field especially against the SEC who used to pool most of the great talent. I like that Carson Beck can continue his career in a different place rather than being a backup or practice squad guy in the NFL. The NIL and transfer portal, like the playoff, need tweaks. I also think the P4 conferences have to agree to a unified scheduling criteria. The ACC and SEC shouldn't get 8 conference games and 4 non-conference ones if the Big 10 and Big 12 are doing 9 conference games and 3 non-conference games. I think the idea of who is worthy is easier to deduce when things are more equal. Sure, the ACC isn't the same league level as the SEC or Big 10 but there are years where teams are going to get much easier schedules (Texas, Indiana) because the 16 member conference is going to give you those. I'd gladly have taken another game against an SEC team this year than UTSA, UL-Mon, or Colorado State. I also think everyone needs to have a one P4 out of conference rule and little to no FCS opponents.
